Summoned...

Once upon a time, there lived a brave sailor,
who voyaged in the endless waters.
And sought his way
through the toughest of storms.
He had survived many fatal hurricanes.
He would sing the songs of the dead -
to the ocean and the winds!

His stories were of gallantry,
they narrated only victory.
But his fate was intervened
by her, but who is she?
No! Not yet, let’s breed the mystery. 

From the winds she learned
of his songs of melancholy.
In awe, she yearned
for his forbidden company.
Thence she lured him to her;
she sang a song with words
meant only for the sailor
and he came as summoned,
bewitched by some verse
he couldn’t decipher. 

"You! O enchantress, who are thee?
What have you done to me?"
Asked the sailor with all his might;
“What is this place?
What have you done to my sight?”  

"Rest my sailor, thou shalt not worry.
You have traveled for so long,
now you must go to sleep."
And she answered him, wickedly.
“And I, O my dear sailor,
am the queen of this deep blue sea.”
