Demise of Winter?

Winter must be gone,
For I feel a gentle warmth.
Though the source of it
Still lingers unperceived.

Spring is here for sure; I see:
The sunshine every morning.
But the evenings are full of doubts;
The icy cold winds still blow.

Also, if it’s gone then why is
One of my cherished perishing?
In mist so dense and thick;
This winter for him is not ending.

And my beloved Love is happy to be:
Unperturbed in the midst of this
Ambiguous season of agony and love.
Still my belief is firm; winter must be gone.

  1. That is a fine poem! Marvelous use of winter as imagery and metaphor.

  2. i am taking a huge risk of commenting on a post which i barely understood. so, this is not about real winter, eh? i was wondering how can icy cold wind blow in delhi when i am virtually sweating in northeast?

    ideally, i shouldn't have commented on this post but for some reason i just felt like typing a stupid comment. i know you are not bothered about comments or votes but honestly i like it when i see my favorite bloggers' posts getting promoted :)

    anyway, even though i haven't understood this poem completely but still found it quite engrossing. i wouldn't mind reading this a few times!

    btw, when are you writing the next part of that story which you posted sometimes back?

    1. Thank you so much Debajyoti for commenting. :)
      Though I must confess half of it flew over my head. O_o
      Anyways I can still try to help you understand it better if you please. :)
      And well, I don't know your reasons for sweating up there in Northeast, but again if you want I can explain why the "icy cold winds".
      And that story, I have removed it for the time being or may be permanently. So now either it will become nothing or something really good. ;)
      Either way, you'll know. :)

  3. When it is full blown summer with temperatures nearing 50 degree celsius, we pray for winter to come soon. And in the middle of the chilly winter, we wish that summer arrived soon. Nice poem . .. ...
