HOPE
I saw those eyes, full of dreams
I saw those lips, hoping to beam
I saw those hands, pleading to rest.
I ask them to stop; life is for us
not for them, they won’t get the best.
they all laughed aloud, as if
I saw those hands, pleading to rest.
I ask them to stop; life is for us
not for them, they won’t get the best.
they all laughed aloud, as if
I’m their personal joke, then they said,
best might be for you; we hope for the rest.
I felt like something by me was left unread.
I felt like something by me was left unread.
I was puzzled to their pun, and probed.
Again they laughed.
I looked into their eyes, imposing my authority
but weakness throbbed in me;
because instead of fear
there I saw only pity.
Then I realized what they had
which made them overpower me.
I had everything I could ask for,
I had scope to ask more. But,
What they had will last forever,
It was their hope for something better.
